Although the Deauville had received its fair amount of attention from the world of the rich and the famous; its most historical moment came in 1964 when Ed Sullivan brought his celebrated “Really Big Show” to the Deauville’s Napoleon Ballroom, featuring what was to become one of the biggest music groups in history in the show’s opening night. The title card for that first broadcast read “Great Britain’s Cultural Gift to America, the Beatles.
